Beijing Olympic Games 2022 - title

Animated sting to introduce the special news coverage within the sports belt of Al Jazeera English.
The brief was to keep the title generic, I've chosen to make use of closeups and sounds.
I had the idea of drawing parallels between the shaping and refinement of ice sculptures to the training and becoming of an olympic athlete - both require total dedication, precision and stamina.
Playing with the sounds of ice and snow immediately recall within us the feeling of winter.
The branding package also included wall images for the studio and styling of on-air result templates.

Design and technical execution of graphic based modular on-air promo template in line with existing branding. Through recombination of the sections the Promo Producer can vary the edit and still stick to a fast turnaround.

Ukraine - The seeds of war | title

This opening title was for a documentary on Al Jazeera English.
Using 3D camera projection to establish a parallax effect and involving modeling, texturing, light effects as well as rendering in passes for compositing and grading. I've chosen an interior scene as the next shot was showing a city being under attack and we feel the quiet eerriness of the scene.
I've found this image with the sand sacks fitting and also chose it as a reference to the issue with grain exports and the wording of the title.

Design and execution as an After Effects template including dynamic links to the Premiere Pro edit.
For this promo I've expanded my skillset and taught myself the use of expressions to improve the UX of the promo template.
Employing scripted dynamic transition timings and text fields while making use of the essential graphic UI - text and footage entry fields - are making versioning faster and easier for the Promo Producers.

Tokyo Olympics 2020 | sting

Branding, including sting and studio dressing for the on-air sports coverage, of the delayed Olympic games that were hosted in 2021 in Tokyo, Japan on Al Jazeera English.
The shapes of the icon like figures in the various disciplines were derived from dissecting and rearranging sections of the Olympic rings while also referring to the sun symbol in the Japanese flag within the background.
This was my first exploration of using and amending Mixamo mocap data within Cinema 4D and skinning my own modeled characters to it.

Attack of the Invisible People | title

Title for short film 'Attack of the Invisible People'.
Written and produced in only 28 days by Andrew Harmer & Andrew Blackburn as part of the Oddball short film challenge of Producer Johnny Oddball.
To keep in mind the budget and context of the film I've employed extreme closeups of mixing various liquids to give a feeling of contamination of the body which is one theme of this sci-fi movie.
